| The tiny Leicestershire mining village of Stoke Golding was situated in an area abundant with greyhound tracks. The more illustrious of these independent tracks were Earl Shilton and Hinckley, but the track in the village was located at 1° 24' W 52° 34' N and racing was administered by the Stoke Golding Greyhound Association. The track held its inaugural meeting on 19th April 1930, very much in the early days of the sport. The standard races were run over 450 yards and were well supported by the local miners. It is believed that racing ceased at the outbreak of the War and did not reopen afterwards. |
